Winchester Deer Season XP 270 uses the XP (Extreme Point ™) bulletin, this premium rifle ammunition that takes deer down instantly. The XP bullet has a high ballistic coefficient polymer tip for a flat trajectory, but the unique feature of the XP is that it has a much wider diameter where the polymer tip meets the jacket.
Winchester Deer Season XP 270 currently produces Deer Season XP ammunition for the following calibers: .223 Remington, .243 Winchester, .25-06 Remington, 6.5 Creedmoor.
The same great rapid expansion you see in Deer Season XP (thanks to the huge hollow point), but the copper bullet is tougher and penetrates further.
The ballistic-tipped Deer Season XP performed exceptionally well at long range. This means more energy is transferred to the target, which is better for taking down deer. The round has a large diameter polymer tip as well as a tapered shell for the flat-bottomed projectile.
You have to put that bullet where it matters to find ultimate success. I think in the end, the 6.5 Creedmoor is an excellent round of whitetail deer hunting. I think if you are making good shots and using the right type of bullets, you will really be satisfied with that.
