I am shooting these out of a single shot H&R Pardner. They are very accurate and have slammed two deer. They will not fit in a Ruger DeerSlayer semi-auto nor would I even try. If you can close the bolt on a bolt action they should work fine. I don’t think a lever action is going to like the extra length or the extra pressure. Your best bet maybe to call Underwood and/or the tech group of your firearm manufacturer.
Kinkater –
I purchased these because I was going into Bear Country on vacation and having the Henry loaded with this round made me feel pretty confident.

Shot a box of 20 with my Taurus Raging Bull and now I want more! This is what owning a 44 magnum is all about! Plenty of power and a kick that you really feel. It crumbled a cinder block with one shot and exploded some melons! I highly recommend it!
William –
Excellent cartridge for a good price. Very hard hitting, great penetration. More recoil, but good trade-off for the extra power!

Yes, the list of firearms capable of safely handling this 340g .44mag +p+ Round is a short one. The Ruger Redhawk is on that list. You could also cross-reference on Buffalo Bores sight which provides further information regarding.44 Magnum +p+ ammunition. I understand that you’re not asking about Buffalo Bore brand ammo, but ballistically speaking they are similar rounds.

The OAL of this cartridge is to long to chamber in a big boy. It is however a very powerful and accurate load in a ruger super blackhawk.
Gilles –
I have fired this round out of a Ruger super redhawk and it worked great.
