When I bought my Ruger RPR in 6.5, I was told by others that had them to buy these. They will shoot the best. I had to test though, so I ordered 6 different types of ammo, all “match” grade, 2 box’s each. The Hornady match ELD in 140 produced tiny, 5/16 5 shot holes followed by the Hornady ELD in 147. Other than Fiocci exacta nobody else was close. I have ran 615 rounds through the rifle to date, in all conditions and they have performed flawlessly at ranges to 500. Love this ammo!

I bought these for my son who had a long range competition he wanted to shoot at his club. He swears by Hornady ELD and is the only ammo he uses at matches. Luckily, Midway had them in stock and the lowest price I could find.

Love the 95gr V-Max bullet for the 6.5 creedmoor! But the varmint express factory load did not group well at all through my Browning X-Bolt Hell’s Canyon although I have started loading the same bullet with 42gr IMR 4064 and wow now I’m getting 1/2″ groups So with that said I can’t use the varmint express in my gun but all barrels are different!

My AR 10 6.5 will shoot 1/2inch group with the 120 ELDs but,1.25inch groups best with the 95 grain v max

Shoots ok out of my gas gun .7 to .5 over all for coyote hunting is a great bullet the 95gr really hits them hard DRT. I have shot coyotes from 20 yards to 500 with them.

Grouped 5 shots inside an inch at 100 yards. This was shot from a custom LR 308 platform with a 16 inch Christensen Arms barrel. Can’t wait to see what this does for the coyotes!!!

Using these rounds in my Ruger Hawkeye Long-Range Target Rifle in 6.5 mm Creedmoor (26″ barrel, 1:8 twist), I get the best group size consistency of the five different ammo brands/bullet weights I’ve trialed so far. Based on 30 rounds, my chronometer indicates an average muzzle velocity of 2675 fps with a standard deviation of 23. My particular rifle “likes” the 140 grain bullet mass and the bullet design of this round. Hornady Match ammo delivers consistently good results. Your rifle might “prefer” a different bullet mass and velocity, so also try the 120 & 129 grain Hornady Match or Superformance ammo if you are still seeking what ammo your rifle “likes” best.

6.5 Ruger PR, had too many coyotes running off not getting enough expansion on them using the 129 gn SST. Stepped down to the 95gn and the last 3 were DRT. They work for me and my equipment!

Devastating on coyotes. This really puts the smack down on them.
